Hatfield is seeking two Environmental Technicians to join our Environmental Monitoring and Assessment Group in Fort McMurray, Alberta.

Responsibilities:

• Implement aquatic baseline studies, operational and compliance monitoring programs, aquatic impact assessments, and habitat offsetting and restoration initiatives. 

• Work with interdisciplinary teams of environmental specialists and technicians to effectively deliver programs in conformance with local, provincial, and federal regulations. 

• Participate in field programs focused on environmental monitoring and assessment of aquatic habitats across Alberta and British Columbia. 

• Compile and interpret environmental data and support the development of technical reports. 

• Work extensively in the field, occasionally in remote locations.

Education and Experience:

• Environmental diploma, B.Sc., or working towards a higher degree in environmental sciences.

• A minimum of 2 years of progressive work experience, preferably in a professional consulting context.

• General knowledge of federal and provincial environmental legislation and environmental impact assessment processes. 

• A valid Canadian driver’s license for the past three years, experience driving a pickup truck, and the ability to meet the requirements for our third-party automobile insurance policy.
