This position presents an exceptional opportunity for the right individual to advance their career at one of western Canada’s largest purely environmental consultancies. We are a progressive and growing consultancy that is focused on providing the highest quality environmental services to our clients at the cutting edge of science.
We have been providing wildlife and terrestrial biophysical services to multiple sectors in BC for over 47 years and continue to grow our team and the services we offer. Candidates will have experience of environmental assessment, permitting, monitoring, and terrestrial habitat restoration work. The ideal candidate will revel in the challenges of delivering complex and interesting wildlife and terrestrial biophysical studies in BC, Alberta and northern Canada. The main tasks for this position would include pre-construction nesting bird activity surveys, small vertebrate salvages, amphibian breeding wetland surveys, and the gathering of wildlife and wildlife habitat baseline data using standard techniques such as point counts, call playbacks, and snow-tracking surveys. Field work would also involve the description of wetland and terrestrial habitats as well as habitat suitability assessments for species at risk and biodiversity at large. Technical assistance may be required on aquatic-related projects such as fish salvages, fish habitat surveys, and water quality monitoring. Office duties would include data entry and/or analysis, and reporting on field findings, potential project effects, and wildlife mitigation requirements. Duties would also consist of leading field programs, preparing permit applications, environmental monitoring, preparing study reports and liaising with clients, regulators and Indigenous groups.
