Talent Acquisition Specialist / Recruiter

As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will be managing the candidate life cycle from beginning to end, passive sourcing, and working across all levels of the organization.

Our HR and Talent Acquisition team is collaborative and supportive, we care about succeeding and celebrating together. We are focused on increasing the overall talent pipeline while providing exceptional experiences for both candidates and hiring managers.

This position is remote for anyone in British Columbia or Alberta. Initially, this is a 6-month, contract position and depending on workload, could potentially be extended. 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Own and drive recruiting life cycle
  • Build strong relationships hiring managers and HR business partners to understand hiring needs and desired talent profiles across the organization
  • Select and screen applicants, qualify, interview, and manage candidates throughout the entire interview process
  • Reference Checks
  • Understand the goals of the organization and how those goals will tie into the overall Talent Acquisition strategy
  • A trusted partner for candidates to understand their interests and motivations and support their journey throughout the entire process
  • Recruit through passive recruiting strategies and utilize social media platforms and industry websites, to seek out prospective talent by building talent communities and pipelines

You’ll need to have:

  • 2-5 years recruitment experience in corporate and/or recruitment agency environment
  • Sales experience an asset
  • Strong headhunting experience including extensive Boolean search experience
  • A strong work ethic and high levels of initiative, enthusiasm, and reliability
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Experience recruiting in scientific or engineering sectors an asset
  • Experience recruiting in IT / software development an asset
  • Proven ability to recruit across various business functions
  • Ability to collaborate across HR and all functions promoting the candidate experience while keeping the success of the organization at the forefront of all endeavors
  • Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems
